MEDICAL HISTORY.......AND LMP........

Its well written and said that “EXPERIENCES TEACH A LOT MORE THAN READING ALONE”……..

Well I haven’t enough experiences of examining patients , but with the experiences I have the most important thing I have learnt in diagnosing and treating a female patient is asking about her LMP(Last Menstrual Period) in history taking.,,,,,,,.BECAUSE.....

A)most of the symptoms she may be explaining  may be due to by pregnancy

B)medicines need to taken cautiously in case of pregnancy and the medicines (given thinking she is non-pregnant) may be hazardous to the developing fetus…......So whenever a female patient mainly of reproductive age comes with complaints to you, never forget to ask her LMP………………Thank you………………

Doctor-Patient Relationship In Nepal

I can’t tell exactly the situation in other countries and rural areas of Nepal; but for sure in the urban areas ---- the patient-doctor relationship is definitely worsening day by day. The present situation in Nepal where anyone can do anything breaking the rules, regulations etc. is a key contributing factor to this situation.

MAGICAL DRUG

For me through my internship period till today (10 months of internship), the drug that I have found to be a sort of magic is 50% dextrose.  Well, commonly patients land in ER brought by their relatives in a state of unconsciousness or altered consciousness the GCS being 5-8 /15.  Just a brief history often reveals person is a chronic alcoholic and had alcohol the before night.
