10 BEST LINES FROM ''THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI''

Do not be concerned with the judgement of others as long as you know what you are doing is right. And for God's sake, never get into the petty habit of measuring your self-worth against other people's net worth. (PAGE 69)   The purpose of life is a life of purpose. (PAGE 74)   There is a purpose for everything that has ever happened to you, and everything  that will happen to you. (PAGE 90)   We do not do things because we love to do them. We do things because we feel we have to do them. This is a formula for misery. (PAGE 91)   Some books are meant to be tasted, some books are meant to be chewed and, finally, some books are meant to be swallowed whole. (PAGE 117)   The most meaningful things in your life should never be sacrificed to those that are the least meaningful. (PAGE 163)   Having the courage to say no to the little things in life will give you the power to say yes to the big things. COVID19 AND NEPAL--- CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES--- FROM THE DOCTOR'S SIDE

Thought of writing this piece of article few days back at the initial days of lockdown in Nepal, however I couldn't set this as my utmost priority in those days..... Image from https://www.diagnosticimaging.com/coronavirus/disinfecting-imaging-equipment-during-covid19 outbreak COVID 19 has impacted the lives of every individual, family, society and nation of the world affecting around 210 countries and millions of morbidity with mortalities also... The concern is worldwide as the disease seems to be easily contagious with no effective treatment till date and the promise of  vaccines needs time to be answered.... Well from the perspective of developing world like Nepal and health being a less priority for the government with quality health not reachable and accessible to majority of the Nepalese, COVID 19 is a challenging issue...... And luckily till todays date, no excess numbers has been recorded with zero mortality... 101 being the total detected cases till the present t

TRANSFORMATION AT RISK........

The transformation of Dadeldhura District Hospital into Sub-regional hospital just a few weeks back has brought up many opportunities but also many more challenges along with that to deal with. The transformation is a bit different than as has come on the price of closing of Team Hospital which was run by a NGO named HDCS. Actually to say being at dadeldhura and dealing in a direct manner with the transformation, I think it was to happen if not now in the near future, following just prior the transformation the way HDCS dealt was just shocking to me---an unprofessional way…the shutting down of all the services including Caesarean Section at that crucial period of time……so it is a good thing that the responsibility has now of the government…..   The significant opportunity of being a Sub regional Hospital at Dadeldhura lies in a simple fact that it is the center of 7 hilly districts of Far-Western region……and if run properly can be a center and an example

MAGICAL DRUG

For me through my internship period till today (10 months of internship), the drug that I have found to be a sort of magic is 50% dextrose.  Well, commonly patients land in ER brought by their relatives in a state of unconsciousness or altered consciousness the GCS being 5-8 /15.  Just a brief history often reveals person is a chronic alcoholic and had alcohol the before night. At the same time, on doing GRBS, you get hypoglycemic reading (<60 mg%) at times I have also got as low as

JOURNEY FROM ONE HEAVEN(HOME) TO ANOTHER(ABC)

If someone asks me to describe my  ABC experience in one line, I would definitely say—“ A PLACE YOU SHOULD GO AT LEAST ONCE IN A LIFETIME .” The eventful day---30 th August, 2011—well it wasn’t the best of the seasons nor the worst of season to start the journey to ABC but thankfully it remains in my memory as the best of lifetime experience till date.
